We all know about the importance of including antioxidants in our diet, but did you know that they are also highly beneficial in skincare? At Isomer’s, we offer several products that contain antioxidants to promote healthy skin.
Keep reading to learn more about why antioxidants matter and some of our favourite ingredients that fight against free radicals in your body!
Why Do Antioxidants Matter in Skincare?
An antioxidant protects your skin from damage by neutralizing “free radicals,” or unpaired electrons that cause oxidative stress and attack the skin's proteins. By neutralizing these unstable molecules, your skin is protected from aging, pigmentation, and vulnerability to other environmental stressors.
With the right antioxidant products in your skincare routine, you’ll enjoy a brighter complexion with firmer and more youthful-looking skin!
Which Antioxidants are Most Effective?
There are plenty of antioxidants to choose from when it comes to skincare, and at Isomers, we select our antioxidant ingredients purely based on their scientifically proven benefits.
Ingredients like glutathione and Vitamin C offer many benefits that protect the skin from free radicals and other harmful environmental effects and are some of our favourite ingredients to work with.
Here are a few reasons why we love using these antioxidants in our products:
Glutathione
High concentrations of glutathione can be found in every cell in the human body, which is one of the key reasons it’s such a powerful antioxidant!
This ingredient comprises three amino acids: cystine, glutamic acid, and glycine. In addition to its status as an antioxidant, it’s also considered a peptide.
Glutathione assists in restoring the skin’s barrier and fighting oxidative damage. This ingredient is great for those who want to even out skin discoloration due to its ability to combat hyperpigmentation and repair sun-exposed areas. While glutathione is not as well-known in skincare as other ingredients, it’s very effective with continuous use.
Our glutathione products at Isomers Skincare include:
- Glutathione Antioxidant Serum: Formulated with Glutathione and PEPHA-TIGHT to reduce the appearance of fine lines, support skin structure, promote a smoother skin surface, hydrate, and more. Recommended for those 35+.
- Glutathione Antioxidant Body Cream: A more concentrated product that combines Glutathione with Venocin, Gotu Kola Extract, and Forskohlii Extract to provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating effects, among other benefits.
- Glutathione Deep Crease Correcting Cream: This product is formulated to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Glutathione works with ingredients like Neodermyl and Aminobytiric acid to fight oxidative stress, smooth the skin, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and a host of other benefits.
Vitamin C
You can’t beat the old standards! Vitamin C is a tried-and-true ingredient in skincare and can be used for several skin types and concerns. It’s a crucial antioxidant that reduces redness, brightens dull skin, and stimulates collagen production.
Other benefits of Vitamin C include its many anti-aging effects, like reducing undereye circles and sagging skin.
Our antioxidant Vitamin C products include:
- Vitamin C & 15% Ferulic Serum: this serum uses Vitamin C and ferulic acid to defend the skin from pollutants and UV damage, boost collagen, brighten the skin, and promote an even tone.
- Vitamin C Brightening Cream: This face cream is formulated with Vitamin C, alpha-arbutin, and niacinamide. Among its many benefits, this cream fights against oxidative stress, reduces redness, evens the skin tone, and reduces visible signs of aging.
- Vitamin C After Sun Body Cream: This antioxidant-rich body cream combines the powerful effects of Vitamin C with Vitamin E, ferulic acid, and niacinamide to target sun damage, brighten the complexion, boost collagen, and give skin a more radiant appearance.
